Located to the west of the Costa del Sol, half an hour from Marbella, this is where we find the exclusive Sotogrande.
Sotogrande is one of the top destinations to meet the national and foreign jet set as it is a place where water sports such as golf, polo and sailing are combined. Is identified as an ideal site for international quality events and large luxury brands. It is specially designed for lovers of sport and nature, is a perfect representation of comfort, and luxury.
When I first meet the couple Marie and Rasmus from Norway they had a venue in mind Sal Verde it being so close to their holyday home, but still wanted to explore other wedding venue options in the local area.
FINDING THE DREAM WEDDING VENUE FOR A 3 DAY WEDDING CELEBRATION
Being a wedding planner, we work closely with suppliers and venues so after the initial
meeting with the couple I contacted a few venues in the Sotogrande -Marbella area and organized a tour in this zone.
After a few venue viewings they found their perfect wedding venue Finca Monasterio which ticket all their requirements. - beautiful gardens and grounds, a lovely authentic venue for the ceremony and dance floor for the guests to enjoy both inside and out.
A few days later they booked their wedding day and the planning started for a starting 3 day wedding celebration for their family and friends located in Norway .
Finca Monasterio is a boutique hotel with 32 rooms: They can host 80 guests over three days of celebrations. The first day was a paella party in the garden, the second was the wedding ceremony and dinner, and the third was the farewell pool party.
CEREMONY AT FINCA MONASTERIO GARDENS
In the morning, the bride and groom get ready in separately rooms, and both sets of bridesmaids -groomsmen’s were helping with all the last-minute details. Meanwhile Lemonface deco team were creating a stunning flower arch of pastel colours white peach and a touch of blue.
Around 16:30 The groom and groomsmen walked down the aisle offering guest small shots of drinks in a jokingly manner . Marie bride’s maids party shortly followed making way for the grand entrance for Marie who entered with her mother.
After a lovely ceremony officiated by a Norwegian priest, guest were then guided to the Finca Monasterio courtyard for a cocktail reception to be greeted with a the bride and groom champagne tower.
DINNER AT THE GARDEN
Guest entering for dinner to a unique seating plan display with each guest name and table number in a shot glass. The idea from the Bride and Groom make guest make the shot before taking their place at the table and start the celebrations.
The garden was fully transformed, the top table was a U shape in the centre of the garden, decorated with beautiful garland covered with candles created by Lemonface . Guest tables were round tables with a mixture of high a low centrepiece’s, candles and fairy lights creating an enchanted forest atmosphere.
A flamenco show was performed by Flamenco events during dinner bring the Spanish vibe magic to the finca. Short movies followed showing the beautiful life of the bride and speeches from loved ones. Kicking of the night of parting with a violinist Quike Navarro and saxophones Demian Arroyo setting the tone for the DJ, to keep the party going at the Pavilion by the pool going on to the early hours.
As the sun rise for another day and the first day of Mr and Mrs was a day of reflection and to be enjoyed by relaxing by the pool and a BBQ feast put on for the guests.
