WEDDING DESSERT TABLES AND CANDY BARS

Who does not love a candy or dessert bar at a wedding?

Weddings are always a good excuse to get creative and this is where you can

have a lot of fun with your wedding planning.

Wedding dessert tables and candy bars are great to introduce mini cake pops, donuts and bowls of candy.

There is a whole host of treats to choose from so if you can't decide just do all of them! Your family and guest will love it .

1-HOW TO PLAN A CANDY BAR.

First write down everything that your dream candy bar would be.

Here are some trending examples:

Off course your wedding cake, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, macarons, mini cheesecakes,

donuts and don’t forget to add your favourite childhood sweets, sour jellies, gobstoppers and jellybeans to mention a few.

2-HOW MUCH SHOULD I PROVIDE?

When you know you’re the final guest count don't over do it, not everyone has a sweet tooth I I recommend for your wedding dessert table and candy bar to work on providing 20% of each item so for every 100 guests a guide would be the following.

20 cupcakes, 20 sugar cookies, 20 donuts, then maybe 30 cake pops, 30

macarons and a few jars of sweets. Also remember you will also have your

wedding cake.

This giving you the option just for cutting and taken home or you may

want to have this also cut and served at your wedding as a dessert .

3-START WITH A COLOUR THEME

Why not give your candy bar a wow factor start with a colour and theme.

You probably already have a beautiful colour scheme for your wedding so

match your wedding dessert table to it, think fewer colours the better.

A white and green with golds as accent colours or maybe something more bold

and retro. It is important that you want it to look elegant and from a children’s birthday party.

4-CONSIDER A BACKDROP

Try using your candy bar as a backdrop. There are many themes from floral walls, old doors, hanging frames, a fairy light curtain, you can really get creative and have a lot of fun with your personalised candy bar.

5-HEIGHT AND DISPLAY IDEAS

Think of ways you can achieve height for your candy bar to really make a

statement, this could be a cake on a stand as the centrepiece, then maybe two

macaron towers either side.

You can raise other things such as plated cookies on boxes and we love perspex

stands or find boxes and cover them with soft fabrics that match the main table.

Look for props you can hire or make such as donut stands and create cones

from matching paper to present popcorn or sweets in.

Create a high statement floral arrangement for your dessert table to also bring

height and add drama to your display.

Apothecary jars are also a beautiful way to display sweets but do make sure the

neck is wide enough for people to get their hands in easily
